Excitement is flowing in an all time high while I'm sitting here with my headphones on and utterly immersed in this very special tune while writing this review. It is not every day that something like this takes place. "Thomas Datt", one of the scene’s leading sound architects is back after a brief and well deserved hiatus. The mastermind’s latest aural offering is his new and reworked version of his legendary track “2V2”.

After twenty two years "2V2" has been re-assembled and restructured. The first version we all know was only the sheer basis of what was waiting to be created. Just a glimpse if you will, of what it could eventually become. Now at last after careful and proper preparation it has arrived! “2V2: The Frequency Of Return” is here in all its glory, ready to be celebrated, devoured and witnessed as it was always destined to be.

 Ethereal cosmic energies unfold in a gradual state and serve as a splendid introduction for what is yet to come. Like an intergalactic journey this remarkable tune builds, one shimmering distant star at a time. Bell-like toll frequencies, acid squelches, throbbing basslines, chirping balls of cosmic matter float effortlessly through the galaxy. Angelic female cosmic voices can be heard from afar like invisible watchers/protectors from The Heavens.

Solaris-Waiting For You (Thomas Datt's Heart Activation Remix) [FSOE Recordings]

 

Polish dance music producer and DJ "Thomas Datt", was a definite force in the scene that we all love. Given us two brilliant artist albums plus a vast number of singles and remixes he certainly helped shape the trance genre with his energetic fusion of sound. One day he vanished into thin air, making his departure much like a certain character found in the beloved tale by none other than J.R.R. Tolkien. The years passed and the scene changed and evolved, as it always does, much like a serpent shedding its skin and adorning a new one. 

Lo and behold Thomas made his triumphant reappearance with a new concept, remixing "Dark Matter-Dragon's Tear" which soared like a bird of prey in the dance music charts. His next audio venture led him to another remix opportunity. This one has been dubbed the "Heart Activation Remix" for "Solaris-Waiting For You". What a grand one it is and it is out now on "Future Sound Of Egypt".

 Thomas pulls out all the stops here adding his own elements to this unique tune. A delicate well balanced fusion of magnanimous melodies, chopped vox and female vocal enchanting wails as if plucked from a dream, thus forming images of lush, paradisial lands, untouched and unchanged by human hands, pure and free, blissful as can be. Female vocals appear in the midst of it all, much like an enchantress of old, luring us all along for the melodic outburst and definite ride of a lifetime. Joyous vibes encircle us as our hearts beat louder in sync to each beat. After a significant amount of absence from the scene, prolific dance music artist "Thomas Datt", marks his imminent return on none other than label on the rise (as I have stated many times before), "Landscapes Music". This is a label heralded by none other than Shyamol Maracci (HORIZONS). Thomas decided it was definitely time to emerge back into the scene, leaving his musical stamp on one of the label's finest releases from the past, the incredible "Dragons Tear" by Danish DJ/Producer "Dark Matter", also known as "Dreamy Dawn". In doing so he brought forth all of his wisdom and experience that he has gained over the years, bringing forward his newly found inner peace and in turn found a way to transmit all of this into the remix you have before you. He dubbed it "Third Eye Activation Remix", a title aptly suited as you will quickly witness.

 We are instantly greeted with magical, mystifying melodies, fresh and vibrant as can be, soul cleansing if you will, as the rest of the elements get to work like a well oiled machine in the background. Acid lines and squelches make their appearance leaving an Earthly attribute as to not get carried away swiftly into the heavenly atmosphere that begins to form. Melodies loaded with an inner calmness follow as images of warm delicate sunlight pierce a quiet, sleepy forest bringing forth a sort of radiance and splendor to the landscape itself. The cheerful leads follow suit enhancing the atmosphere further adding an extra dosage of joy and an emotional "happy to be alive" element that really brings this tune to new heights. Healing, powerful music that will undoubtedly begin a healing process within each individual listener through serene, flawless and rejuvenating beats!
