Music has strange and wonderful properties. It has the unique ability to connect people on a global scale, knowing no boundaries. It can unite people, forge lifelong friendships or even spark up meaningful conversations by the people who inhabit planet Earth. The world can be an ever shifting and dangerous place sometimes but one thing remains certain: music has always been there to heal the broken and refuel one’s energy anew! Music is and always should be a unique celebration of sounds, ideas, experiences, peace, love and friendship. With all this in mind a unique idea was formed: why not create an album that would come to showcase talents from artists from all over the globe? Not the easiest task to be sure but where there is a will there is always a way!
“The International Artists Project” was formed and this album “The World Album” is the winning result! A celebration of all kind of music from all styles, sounds and genres. A collective if you will, of eclectic music from artists who reside in the farthest corners of the world, to the most common one frequently hears about. This happens to be the very first album in history to feature artists born or raised in every single country of the world! It boasts ninety three languages and one hundred and twenty one music genres. The result? Two hundred tracks which consists of a twelve and a half hour aural experience! I daresay that is quite the Herculean labor!
Here’s another interesting factor: Iris Sloof from The Netherlands, mostly known under her artist name “Izzy” has achieved the rare honor of being selected to represent her country and the musical genre that lies deep in her heart: trance. Her track “Infinite Universe” was subconsciously created as if it was already predestined to play a larger role in the grand scheme of things. Before deciding which label it may be a good fit for she realized it was perfect for this artist project, even the title itself was a nudge in the right direction. Being the first artist to join the project in 2023, she later decided after careful consideration to go back to the drawing board and rework the track as well as collaborate with yet another of the artists found on the project. This idea sparked a fruitful collaboration with “Michaela” (a singer/songwriter from Peru) which in turn led Michaela to visit Amsterdam and make further adjustments to the track. A short time later it was finalized and ready for the project, making it an absolutely perfect choice to kick off “The World Album”! After all the message of the track resonates in perfect harmony with the concept of “The World Album”. Is that not what music is all about? Connecting people from all over the globe, bringing hope, inspiration and light to those who may need it the most?
I for one embrace this album with an open heart and advise you all to do the same, discovering all the treasures that lie within!
